There are also some un-guided tours you can do yourself on the cheap.
Take the bus to Boca de Tomatlan, then take a water taxi to Las Animas Beach or Yelapa.
Take the El Tuito bus and visit this old town, much older than Puerto Vallarta, see El Tuito.
Take the same bus, but get off at the Botanical Gardens, just past Las Juntas y Los Veranos Map.
