Tropical Disturbance No. 3 Has 20% Chance of Becoming a Tropical Storm in 48 Hours

Tropical Disturbance No. 3 has favorable conditions for developing into a cyclonic system off the coast of the Mexican Pacific, but it is not yet a fully developed cyclonic system.

The system is still in a development stage. The disturbance is associated with a low-pressure trough south-southwest of Mexico that has conditions conducive to cyclonic development.

The probability that the system will develop into a tropical storm is 20% during the next 48 hours. The special notice about Tropical Disturbance No. 3 was issued on September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The probability that the disturbance will develop over the coming days is keeping authorities on alert, and the system’s trajectory may change. The State Civil Protection Unit of Jalisco said that the system could move near the coast of Jalisco between Tuesday and Wednesday if its expected development and trajectory continue.

Authorities anticipate that the phenomenon could produce intense rain, strong wind gusts, and elevated waves in Jalisco.
